Here at Lloyd & Cowan we are thrilled to be working with a practice who is seeking a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis. They offer a variety of small animal surgeries, including orthopaedics, and take a progressive approach to large animal care, with many of their farmers actively involved in health planning. Their equine work is conducted to a high standard, supported by DR X-ray and video endoscopy.

About them:

Their surgery has been serving the local farming community for over 35 years and is the hub for their farm and equine work, while their other site is a busy small animal clinic with a varied caseload, including orthopaedics. The caseload is roughly 70% small animal, 15% large animal, and 15% equine.

They are a highly collaborative practice with 5 vets, 5 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 practice manager, and 5 support staff. They're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their cases while valuing teamwork and support from colleagues.

Flexible Working to Suit You:

The full-time rota is 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, but they're open to part-time applicants. However, a share of the large animal OOH rota (currently 1 in 4, aiming for 1 in 5) is required. Small animal OOH is outsourced.

Salary:

Up to £70,000 DOE

Benefits:

  • 6.8 weeks including bank holidays per annum

  • Additional holiday entitlement for your birthday

  • Private medical insurance
