We at Lloyd & Cowan are pleased to be working with a practice who have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced small animal vet to join their amazing team of vets, RVNs, SVNs and support staff.
Role:
This is a permanent position for someone looking for full or part time hours. You will work closely alongside the rest of the team, providing clinical support and guidance where needed, as well as managing your own cases. The role will primarily involve clinical work; however, there is scope for some managerial involvement should you be interested in this.
Rota:
You will be required to work 2-3 days a week for the part time position or the full time role involves working 4 days and having a set day off in the week. Our usual day length is 8 am to 7 pm, however, there is flexibility in these hours. You will be involved in a weekend rota, working no more than 1:5 weekends (8:30 am to 5 pm on Saturday and availability for inpatients on Sunday). There will be 2-3 additional Saturday mornings per year required, 9 am to 1 pm but no out-of-hours work is involved in this role.
About them:
They are a single site practice situated in beautiful Hereford. They have their own in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring equipment, ultrasound, ECG, doppler blood pressure machine and K-laser. They have regular cardiology clinics, undertaken by a visiting cardiologist and their orthopaedic surgeries are performed by a visiting orthopaedic surgeon.
Their team consists of 6 vets, 8 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 ANA, as well as their wonderful support team. They are very supportive of advanced learning programmes such as certificates, or just helping to develop their colleagues by support in house with medical or surgical cases.
Who they are seeking:
They are looking for an experienced and confident vet who is willing to support and teach their colleagues and to assist in the development of their clinical skills. An ability to stay calm in potentially difficult situations and to communicate clearly with others is important, as is an understanding of the importance of confidentiality. You must be able to work well within a team and have the confidence to lead that team in its clinical development, whilst working closely with the senior management team.
Salary:
Salary up to £65,000 DOE plus Relocation Allowance up to £5,000
