If you’re an ECC-focused vet who enjoys the pace and challenge of night work, this is the role for you.
A family-run, 24/7 veterinary hospital in Leeds is seeking a dedicated OOH Vet Surgeon to join their established emergency care team. The rota offers a true work-life balance — 7 nights on, 14 off — with full encouragement to locum during your off weeks, should you wish.
You’ll be supported by an experienced OOH RVN and VCA, with reception cover until 10pm and twilight RVN support until midnight. You'll also benefit from certificate-holder support across surgery, medicine, and dentistry, and an internal CPD culture that actively encourages professional development (including certificate sponsorship).
What makes this night role different?
You’ll be part of a 70-strong team, working in an advanced hospital that’s equipped for high-standard ECC work. Expect regular hands-on involvement in:
- Caesareans, pyometras, enterotomies, and enterectomies
- Addisonian crises, DKA, and severe pancreatitis management
- TFAST, AFAST, endoscopy, chest drains, urinary catheterisation, and more
Hospital equipment includes:
- Full in-house lab (Procyte, Catalyst Dx, EPOC, Coags, transfusion kits)
- Digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound with Doppler, scopes (flexible & rigid)
- Full surgical suite with Gen11, Valleylab, Ligaclips, and negative pressure wound therapy
If you're a confident night vet looking for autonomy, a supportive clinical team, and excellent facilities, this could be the step up you're looking for.
