An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to take the lead at a thriving first-opinion practice with a dedicated and loyal client base in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside. Supported by a regional network and an experienced team, this position offers the chance to foster strong client relationships and drive further growth and development of the practice.

This role requires confidence in small animal practice, a client-focused approach, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care. The ideal candidate will work to a high standard both surgically and medically, while demonstrating the ambition and leadership to inspire and develop their team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures
  • Provide outstanding client care with clear, empathetic communication and patient updates
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory and operational compliance
  • Prepare accurate treatment plans with clear cost estimates for clients
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to drive commercial performance
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and ensuring effective teamwork
  • Inspire the team by sharing best practices and evolving clinical standards
  • Manage clinical handovers and coordinate transfers for out-of-hours care
  • Promote and support clinical excellence within the practice and wider community

Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional patient and client care
  • Strong understanding of how exceptional care enhances the client experience
  • Experience fostering a progressive clinical culture
  • Ability to drive commercial performance through effective clinical activity management
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in coaching and influencing to maximise team potential
