Overview
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our award-winning team, focusing on both equine and farm animal care in the stunning rural setting of Lancashire. Whether you have a preference for equine work or farm animal practice, we support your interests and career development within both fields.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll work in a varied caseload that includes family-run dairy farms, pedigree beef, sheep, smallholders, and sports & leisure equine practice. The role offers the opportunity to gain significant experience across both equine and farm animal care while being supported by a friendly and knowledgeable team.
You’ll have access to a modern, purpose-built facility for large animal surgeries, with a focus on providing high-quality care and diagnostic services. Expect to manage a balanced workload that includes lameness workups, advanced dental procedures, and surgeries, all with state-of-the-art equipment, including a mobile CR x-ray machine, ultrasound, and video endoscopes.

The practice has a fantastic team of professionals, with experienced veterinary surgeons and support staff who offer advice, guidance, and support on tricky cases. The Clinical Director has been with us for 30 years, and we pride ourselves on fostering a team-oriented environment where everyone looks out for one another.
Work Schedule & Work-Life Balance
We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance. This role features a flexible 1:5 on-call rota, with a half-day after on-call shifts and a Friday afternoon off following weekend work. You’ll have 3 completely undisturbed weekends each month, giving you time to enjoy the stunning Lancashire countryside and more.
