We at Lloyd & Cowan are pleased to be working with a practice who is seeking a dedicated weekend veterinary surgeon to join their team permanently. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who thrive on ECC work and enjoy tackling diverse, non-routine cases. They offer a high caseload as they provide OOH services for both their own practices and several surrounding clinics.

This role offers a unique schedule that supports an excellent work/life balance, making it ideal for fly-in, fly-out vets or those looking to expand their ECC experience.
Their main hospital is a bustling first-opinion practice, multidisciplinary referral center, and out-of-hours service. They also operate 8 additional practices. Their team is made up of experienced vets, RVNs, student nurses, veterinary care assistants, and client care advisors.
Role Overview:
As part of their weekend team, you’ll handle consultations and inpatient care, focusing primarily on emergency and urgent cases. Routine work is minimal, with most consults related to sick animals and emergencies. You will also oversee inpatient care, including procedures and emergency surgeries like foreign body removals, GDVs, and C-sections.
The weekend rota operates 1 in 2 weekends, with a variety of shift patterns available, which can be discussed at interview. Example shifts include:
Ward Vet 1: 7am - 5pm
Ward Vet 2: 9am - 7pm
Float Vet: 8:30am - 6:30pm (combo of wards/consults as needed)
Consult Vet: 8am - 6pm
Salary:
Salary is up to £800 per day.
