Looking for a small animal role that offers something a bit different? This independent, community-focused practice in Cornwall has been caring for a wide range of species for over a century—and they’re now looking to welcome another vet to the team.

You'll be part of a friendly, supportive group that genuinely enjoys working together. The clinic is RCVS-accredited and Silver Cat Friendly, with a loyal client base and a varied caseload to keep things interesting. While the work is mostly small animal, the practice does support the local seal sanctuary—so if marine life is your thing, there are some unique cases that might just pique your interest.

Why consider this role?

  • No out-of-hours—enjoy your evenings and weekends
  • Option to get involved in wildlife/marine cases if you’d like to
  • Solid mentorship available for less experienced vets
  • Open to full or part-time hours
  • Good mix of consults and surgeries, with time to work up cases

The team & setup:
You’ll be joining a multi-species, well-equipped practice with a down-to-earth, collaborative culture. Everyone here is encouraged to follow their clinical interests, and the leadership team is focused on helping people grow—whether that’s through CPD, certificates, or just building confidence case by case.

What’s on offer:

  • Up to 6 weeks’ holiday including bank holidays
  • CPD allowance to support your development
  • Paid RCVS + one other membership
  • VDS cover
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Cycle to work scheme, sick pay, regular salary reviews
  • Staff discounts on vet care
  • And more"

The location offers a lovely balance of nature and community—close to beaches, peaceful walks, and with Penzance and Falmouth just 30 minutes away. It’s ideal if you’re after a slower pace without feeling isolated.

If you’d like to know more about the role, feel free to reach out in confidence. Contact sophie@lloydandcowan.com or call me on 07519119233.

And if this one’s not quite for you, but you know someone it might suit, send it their way—if we place them, we’ll send you £200 in vouchers to say thanks.
