About the Practice
This busy, modern practice features state-of-the-art facilities and serves a diverse small animal caseload. The team includes a dedicated Practice Manager, one Veterinary Surgeon, a Head Nurse, a Student Nurse, two Patient Care Assistants, and a Client Care Assistant.
Located in the heart of Derbyshire, Matlock is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with excellent transport links including the A6 and the Derwent Valley railway line. It provides easy access to Derby, Bakewell, and beyond while retaining its quaint charm with Georgian, Victorian, and cottage-style architecture.
The Role
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week over four days, including 1:3 half weekends or 1:6 full weekends. Part-time applications are welcome, and the team is open to flexible arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures.
- Build strong relationships with clients, providing clear updates and tailored care plans.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Ensure regulatory and operational compliance while maintaining clinical excellence.
- Participate in handovers and ensure smooth care transitions for patients needing additional services.
- Share and implement clinical best practices within the practice and across the wider network.
What We’re Looking For
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- A commitment to providing outstanding patient and client care.
- Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Leadership experience or the ability to mentor and guide others effectively.
- An interest in supporting nurse consultations and schedule 3 procedures.
- Experience in building a progressive clinical culture.
