Veterinary Surgeon – Flexible Role with Great Support Team

Are you looking for a role in a thriving, well-established practice with plenty of support and opportunities to develop? This could be the perfect role for you!

The Practice
This modern, purpose-built practice has been serving the local community for nearly 10 years and is part of a well-established veterinary network. Located within a busy pet store, the practice benefits from a loyal client base and sees a wide variety of cases across small animal species.

The facilities include:

  • Digital x-ray and dental x-ray
  • Laparoscopy
  • Ultrasound
  • Full in-house laboratory
  • Separate dog, cat, and exotic wards
  • Fully equipped operating theatre

The team consists of 3 veterinary surgeons, 8 qualified nurses, a trainee nurse, a veterinary nursing assistant, and 4 receptionists, all supported by clinical and administrative team leaders.

The Role
You’ll work alongside experienced vets with 20+ years of expertise in both medicine and surgery, creating a supportive environment to help you grow your skills. The practice encourages professional development, offering a generous CPD allowance and funding for certificates.

The position can be tailored to suit your lifestyle with options for part-time hours or even weekends only, and there is no OOH work. The rota includes:

  • 15-minute consults as standard
  • Protected lunch breaks
  • Built-in admin time and “catch-up” slots

What’s on Offer
In addition to a rewarding role in a supportive environment, you’ll benefit from:

  • Salary up to £65,000 (FTE), depending on experience
  • 6.6 weeks holiday allowance
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Life assurance (4x annual salary)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • CPD allowance with 5 paid days and certificate funding
  • Flexible working hours
  • Relocation allowance up to £2,000
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Retail and veterinary discounts
  • Compassionate and family-related leave, including birthday leave and pet bereavement leave

About You
The team is looking for a vet with surgical experience and a passion for high standards. If you’re confident, eager to bring new ideas, and excited to contribute to a supportive and inclusive environment, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Location
Commutable from some beautiful towns in the southwest, this location offers a balance of rural living and convenient travel options.
