We at Lloyd & Cowan are pleased to be working with a client who are looking for a Vet to join their team on a full or part-time basis as one of their current Vets are retiring.

The practice was established in 1911, they offer high quality, first opinion veterinary care to small animals, horses and farm animals in Pendle, Burnley and the surrounding areas. They are an approved veterinary nurse training centre and an approved member of the Royal College Practice Standards Scheme. They have great facilities which will allow for good case work, including a state-of-the-art DR digital x -ray machine with cloud base image storage, ECG, flexible endoscope, ultrasound scanner, tonometer, infusion pumps and a well-equipped lab including an electrolyte analyser.

Team

They have a friendly and supportive team. As a practice, they take part in several social events. Over the last few years, they have taken part in the annual charity Pendle Pub Walk covering 13 miles and visiting a few pubs for refreshments on the way! Many of their employees enjoy taking part in activities, often raising money for various charities.

The Rota:

  • Full or part time hours

  • To give you an idea of their current pay scales. A one year qualified vet will be paid £38,000. A vet who has been qualified for 6 years will be on £53,000 (pro rata)

  • Their vets have three 5pm finishes a week and they have a ‘flexivet’ (an extra vet) so that they have time built in for admin and phone calls

  • Weekend OOH is 1.5 in 8 with generous time of in lieu given

  • They are happy to discuss the hours you work around your needs
