We are working with a well-established veterinary hospital in Westmeath seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a VCI-registered vet looking to be part of a progressive, well-equipped practice with high clinical standards and a supportive environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a 40-hour workweek and a 1 in 3 weekend rota, which includes out-of-hours and on-call duties on a shared basis.

The ideal vet:

  • The successful candidate will be confident in general consultations and routine surgeries, including neutering, dentals, and emergency procedures.
  • Experience in case management and working efficiently within a busy caseload is essential. This role is not suitable for candidates requiring extensive training in routine surgeries.
  • The practice is looking for a team player who enjoys engaging with clients and working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Must have 2 years expereince minimum, confident in surgery and VCI registered

The hospital is purpose-built and fully equipped with Digital Radiology, Ultrasound, Idexx Blood Analysers, and Endoscopy, providing an excellent clinical environment. The team consists of three experienced Veterinary Surgeons, a Registered Veterinary Nurse, a Student Veterinary Nurse, and three support team members, ensuring a strong support network and a great working atmosphere.
