Exciting Opportunity for a Float RVN – Experience Variety Across Multiple Locations!

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves variety in your work? If you enjoy working in different settings, across different teams, and providing essential support wherever it's needed, this Float RVN role is the perfect opportunity for you! Our client, a well-established and respected veterinary group, is seeking a Float RVN to join their team.

About the Practice

Our client is a renowned veterinary group with a network of clinics and hospitals across a wide region. With a rich history and a reputation for providing exceptional veterinary care, they pride themselves on their supportive and forward-thinking approach to both staff and animal care. The practice has been in operation for decades and continues to grow, valuing its team members and providing a fantastic work-life balance.

Working within this practice gives you the opportunity to work with a range of specialist services in RCVS accredited hospitals, multi-vet practices, and smaller clinics, all while enjoying the support of experienced regional managers. This varied environment ensures that no two days are the same!

About the Role

The Float RVN role offers an exciting opportunity to work across various clinics, covering rota gaps, and supporting teams with their staffing needs. You’ll experience a range of work environments, from larger hospitals with a wide variety of specialisms to smaller sole-charge clinics. The role allows for significant flexibility, as you will be closely supported by your locum coordinator to manage your shifts.

  • Salary: £32,000 to £35,000, depending on experience, with room for growth within the role.
  • Accommodation: Available for those working in specific areas.
  • Working Pattern: Flexible shift patterns, including weekend and bank holiday work, which can be planned around your personal schedule.
  • No Out-of-Hours: No need to worry about out-of-hours shifts as the practice has 24-hour hospitals available for those urgent cases.

Benefits

Our client offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays (pro rata for part-time).
  • Generous relocation assistance (where applicable).
  • CPD Budget: Annual budget for ongoing professional development, plus 2 days’ paid CPD leave.
  • Employee Assistance Programme: 24-hour support for wellbeing.
  • Medical Cashback Plan: Refunds on many routine medical expenses, including dental, physiotherapy, and more.
  • Professional Membership Fees: Covered, including RCVS.
  • Shopping Discounts: Enjoy discounts on various retail outlets.
  • Colleague Discounts: Significant discounts for employees.
  • Petplan Discounts: 20% off for colleagues.
  • Wellness Plans: Offered to all new starters, plus senior managers trained in mental health first aid.

Why Join the Team?

This position offers job security and a regular, fixed monthly income, with the option to take on extra shifts for additional earnings. It’s the ideal role for someone who enjoys variety but doesn’t want the uncertainty of a locum position. Plus, you’ll have the chance to work across an established network of clinics and hospitals, gaining invaluable experience and contributing to a high standard of care.

Unlike locuming, this role comes with the benefit of a regular salary, the chance to plan your weekends well in advance, and no need to deal with IR35 or the hassle of setting up a limited or umbrella company. With a dedicated and welcoming team, fantastic career development opportunities, and a great work-life balance, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

If you’re an RVN looking for an exciting, varied role with the opportunity to develop your skills and be part of a supportive and forward-thinking practice, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to take the next step in your veterinary career!
