We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic pig vet to join a leading practice in the field. This role would suit a vet with pig experience or a veterinary surgeon looking for a career change into the sector. Strong communication skills are essential to maintain high standards and deliver excellent client support.
About the Practice
This RCVS-accredited practice is one of the few in the UK with a 100% focus on pigs. The team consists of 10 vets, alongside a strong commercial and support team. While based in East Yorkshire, the client base extends throughout the UK, with offices in Scotland and East Anglia.
What the Role Involves
- Working closely with integrators, owners, managers, and farm staff to improve health, welfare, and farm efficiency
- On-farm assessments and health improvement strategies
- Post-mortem examinations and disease investigations, including sampling, abattoir inspections, and pregnancy scanning
- Training farm staff, both in-person and virtually
- Industry collaboration, including participation in producer meetings and trial work
- Flexible geographical location for experienced candidates
- Good work-life balance with a 1:4 weekend-only rota (call-outs are rare)
