We have an exciting opening for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon in West Meath to join an amazing team!

  • Full-time, permanent position for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon 

Rota:

40-50 hours / 4.5-5.5 days per week 

Shift patterns are typically 9am-6:30pm Mon-Friday, Saturday 8:30am-4pm. Within these, one shift of 9am-2pm per week plus every second Friday 12pm finish 

1 weekend in 4 during peak season, 1 weekend in 8 during off peak season  

The Practice:

They are a truly mixed practice, catering to roughly 60% SA, 20% LA and 20% Equine. They have all the usual equipment that you would expect including digital x-ray, state-of-the-art blood analysers, ultrasound, dental facilities, gaseous anaesthesia, equine x-ray facilities, large animal surgery, stocks, stables, and calf pens. 

Their well-established team comprises of 5 Veterinarians, 2 Veterinary Nurses, and a team of 5 support staff. Across the team they have a wealth of experience so there is a good support both surgically and medically – all of them are willing to help one another.

The hospital is located in Athlone which is in the very centre of Ireland. An 1 hour from both Dublin and Galway with plenty of public transport passing through their busy town daily. Athlone is a bustling market town with a plethora of cafes, pubs, and restaurants to suit all tastes and we are surrounded by beautiful countryside and waterways. 

What we need from you 

  • VCI Registration

  • Experience preferred but not essential 

  • New graduates welcome, training will be provided 

  • Valid Irish drivers license
