I am working with a well-established, RCVS-accredited veterinary practice in Surrey, that’s looking to welcome an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving practice that has recently undergone significant refurbishment, offering modern facilities in a picturesque location near the Surrey Hills.

About the Practice
This independent practice has three fully equipped units, featuring two consultation rooms, a dental suite, a theatre, a staff room, and separate dog and heated cat kennels. With plenty of parking on-site and surrounded by lovely coffee shops, it’s a fantastic location to work from. The practice is known for delivering high-quality, compassionate care, and is supported by a friendly and dedicated team.

State-of-the-Art Facilities
The practice is fully equipped with modern veterinary tools, including:

  • In-house IDEXX lab machines

  • Laser therapy machine

  • Endoscopy and laparoscopic spay equipment

  • Ultrasound and digital x-ray

  • Full dental suite with x-ray

  • Multi-parameter monitoring

  • Tono pen, blood pressure, and ECG monitoring

  • Acupuncture equipment

The Role
As the Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll be working 40 hours over a 4-day week, with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (time off in lieu). You’ll lead a supportive team to deliver exceptional veterinary care, ideally bringing experience in surgery or dentistry. While leadership experience is an asset, they are open to strong GPs with a passion for team development and mentoring.

What They’re Looking For

  • An experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a background in GP practice

  • A particular interest in surgery or dentistry

  • Leadership or management experience, with a passion for mentoring

  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach

  • Dedication to delivering excellent clinical standards and patient care

Why This Role?
This position offers an excellent work-life balance with no out-of-hours or on-call duties, as the practice has a 24-hour hospital nearby that covers emergencies. You’ll also have access to advanced imaging and a fantastic team environment. It’s a great opportunity for a motivated vet looking to advance their career in a leadership role without sacrificing hands-on clinical work.
