An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced and motivated Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join the leadership team at a well-established veterinary clinic in Dublin. This pivotal role offers the autonomy to drive the holistic performance of the clinic and its team, ensuring exceptional patient care, outstanding client service, and a highly engaged team. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Lead Veterinary Surgeon will be instrumental in shaping and delivering the clinic’s business plan in collaboration with operational and business support functions.

Leadership

  • Act as an ambassador for the clinic, exemplifying the values and principles of the organisation.
  • Lead the team with positivity, providing coaching and mentoring to build strong relationships and foster a collaborative culture.
  • Effectively communicate internal updates and initiatives to the team through regular meetings and feedback channels.
  • Collaborate with operational and medical teams to align the clinic's strategic goals with the wider organisation’s objectives.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, while celebrating achievements and best practices.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Serve as the named person for regulatory compliance (PAS Accreditation) and ensure adherence to clinical standards.
  • Lead by example in clinical best practices, maintaining high-quality care and sound clinical judgment.
  • Provide mentorship and development support for veterinary staff to promote career progression and clinical excellence.
  • Support the nursing team in delivering exceptional care, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Promote preventative healthcare (e.g., vaccinations, parasite prevention, pet insurance) to clients for enhanced veterinary care.
  • Cultivate transparency in clinical work, including accurate estimating and billing processes.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Regional Director and support teams to develop and implement the clinic’s annual business plan.
  • Be accountable for clinic-level performance, achieving and surpassing monthly and annual targets across quality, people, client satisfaction, and financial metrics.
  • Report on clinic performance regularly, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive team engagement through effective management, creating a culture of feedback, development, and psychological safety.

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon with demonstrated clinical and leadership experience.
  • A proactive and motivational leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skilled in clinical best practices and mentoring veterinary teams.
  • Strong operational and strategic mindset with a focus on achieving targets and business goals.
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding client service and promoting team development.
