This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, experienced leader with a genuine passion for the veterinary profession. If you're looking for a role where you can truly make your mark and lead a large, skilled team in delivering high-quality care, this could be the perfect next step.

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays

  • Private Medical Insurance

  • Paid lunch breaks

  • Medical cashback plan – claim back on routine healthcare like dental, physio, and optical costs

  • Professional membership fees covered (where applicable)

The Role:
This is a full-time, on-site position (Monday to Friday), with occasional remote on-call responsibilities to support senior leadership. You’ll be working closely with a long-standing Head Vet, an experienced clinical leadership team, and a large support network of nursing, reception, and admin staff.

As Hospital Manager, you’ll be at the heart of day-to-day operations, driving both clinical excellence and operational efficiency across a multidisciplinary team of over 70 staff, including vets, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs, and front-of-house professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting a positive, collaborative team culture

  • Overseeing hospital operations, including stock control, rota planning, and general HR matters

  • Maintaining high standards of client service through effective reception team leadership

  • Managing complaints, debt control, and supporting with recruitment activity

  • Working alongside finance and senior leadership to support the commercial success of the hospital

Who we’re looking for:
You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or management role within a veterinary or healthcare setting

  • Confidence managing large teams with varied responsibilities

  • Strong organisational skills and a calm, solutions-focused approach

  • A genuine interest in helping a hospital team thrive—from patient care to practice growth

The Practice:
The hospital is part of a larger group but operates with autonomy, supported by in-house advanced diagnostics, a surgical suite (including orthopaedics and soft tissue), a commercial lab, and an OOH team. It also serves as a referral hub for surrounding clinics in the region.

Located on the edge of Essex with fast, direct transport links into Central London, the hospital is ideally placed for those wanting a mix of city access and a local community feel.
