Join a highly-regarded, independent Equine practice located in New South Wales, just 30 minutes from Canberra, ACT!
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate equine veterinarian to join a one-vet practice offering plenty of variety, autonomy, and flexibility - with a genuinely supportive and fun team culture.
The Role:
If you’re looking to escape the bustle of a busy clinic and work more independently in a scenic rural setting, this could be your ideal move.
You’ll be just 30 minutes from Canberra, 2 hours to the snowfields, and 2 hours to the coast - perfect for those who love outdoor adventures, wine country, or a relaxed countryside lifestyle.
The Practice:
This is a single-vet ambulatory and clinic-based practice servicing a broad client base across the ACT and surrounding regions. While the majority of patients are pleasure, dressage, and eventing horses, you’ll also get exposure to camp drafting horses, Standardbreds, pony club favourites, and some much-loved retirees - giving you the chance to build experience in all areas of equine care.
The practice is well equipped with:
- Digital radiography and ultrasound
- Video and portable endoscopy
- Terafloat & Powerfloat
- Purpose-built facilities including Portasafe mobile stocks
Approximately 75% of work is ambulatory, and you'll have access to a fully equipped vehicle for work use.
What’s on Offer:
- Hourly rate of $45–$70, depending on experience
- Full or part-time hours available (minimum 18 hours/week)
- Generous CPD allowance to support your growth
- Paid AVA/EVA memberships and Veterinary Board registration
- 4 weeks of annual leave, with flexibility for additional unpaid leave if needed
- Supportive and down-to-earth team culture - fun, flexible, and highly professional
- Negotiable out-of-hours and public holiday work
- Work vehicle provided for all ambulatory visits
About You:
- Must be eligible for registration in Australia
- A confident equine vet looking for more autonomy and work-life balance
- Someone who values client communication, relationship-building, and a high standard of care
- Anyone keen to enjoy a relaxed rural lifestyle without compromising on professional development
