Here at Lloyd & Cowan we are delighted to be working with a practice who are on the look out for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

About them:

They are a hardworking but fun team of 3 vets, 4 experienced nurses, 1 Student nurse and 5 Receptionists. They put emphasise on working as a team and truly supporting each other. They have a practice ethos of the animals always coming first so they don’t push you for any financial targets. All non-routine appointments are 20 minutes and routine appointments are 15 minutes.

They have a loyal client base and a varied caseload…no two days are the same! The surgery is built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital radiography, ultrasound and in-house lab.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal vet to join them will be personable, have good clinical skills, be experienced with consultations and routine procedures, and have excellent communication skills. Communication is very important to them, being able to build a rapport with their clients is an essential skill, as is the ability to support their colleagues. They work best by discussing cases, sharing opinions and expertise and supporting each other in practice.

They can offer you:

  • Career development opportunities

  • Excellent salary (35-60k depending on experience)

  • 5.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays, and after 2 years you get an extra week

  • Paid professional memberships (RCVS, VDA, BVA)

  • Funded Visa Sponsorship

  • Contributory pension scheme

  • CPD allowance– we are happy to fund and support certificates (one of our vets is currently working towards a certificate in small animal medicine)
