​A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated, loyal team in a friendly clinic located in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

You will handle both consulting and operating on a shared rota, working with a warm, engaged team including three experienced RVNs and a receptionist. With 15-minute consultations, as well as protected lunch and admin breaks, this role ensures balanced, high-quality patient care.

This practice is also closely connected to a sister clinic in Wem and a full-service hospital in Shrewsbury. The Shrewsbury location provides OOH care, as well as access to advanced services like orthopaedics, CT, hydro/physiotherapy, laser therapy, and endoscopy.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, with 1 in 6 weekends at the Shrewsbury 24-Hour hospital. Ideal for a motivated Vet with strong clinical judgment, who’s comfortable working independently in a newly refurbished environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures.

  • Provide exceptional client communication, with clear patient updates.

  • Maintain regulatory and operational compliance.

  • Prepare accurate treatment and care plans with clear cost estimates.

  • Mentor and support team members, maximizing their strengths.

  • Conduct clinical handovers and arrange necessary patient transfers for OOH care.

Required Skills & Experience

  • RCVS Registration: Registered Veterinary Surgeon.

  • Client & Patient Care: Experience in delivering excellent care to both patients and clients.

  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Clinical Leadership: Demonstrated clinical leadership and experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.

  • Coaching & Influencing: Skilled in motivating and guiding colleagues.
