Lloyd & Cowan are excited to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a welcoming and friendly practice in the picturesque seaside town of Littlehampton.

The practice boasts a supportive team environment, comprising veterinarians, nurses, and support staff, all dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets. The facility is equipped with three consultation rooms, a prep room, a theatre, digital x-ray, endoscopes, rhinoscopy, ultrasound, ECG, slit lamp, suction, pulse oximetry, and upgraded lab equipment.

This position offers the right candidate a balanced mix of surgery and consultations, allowing you to build a strong rapport with a loyal client base.

Nestled next to the South Downs National Park, this location is perfect for those who enjoy the outdoors, with ample opportunities for water sports, dog walking, and exploring the beauty of nearby Arundel and the local High Down vineyard.

Key Benefits Include:

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures.

  • Provide compassionate care, ensuring the well-being of animals.

  • Utilize diagnostic equipment such as x-rays, ultrasounds, and blood analysers with strong diagnostic skills.

  • Collaborate with veterinary professionals, including nurses and support staff.

  • Employ critical thinking to diagnose complex cases and make informed treatment decisions, particularly in emergency situations.

  • Uphold high ethical standards in veterinary practice and maintain accurate medical records for all patients.

  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-operative assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans.

  • Promote preventative care through routine vaccinations and immunisations, while educating clients on healthy lifestyle choices for their pets.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to support team members.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed) or equivalent.

  • Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

  • Surgical proficiency for both routine and complex procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of anaesthesia protocols and pain management techniques.

  • Ability to deliver compassionate care to ensure animal welfare.

  • Excellent communication skills to engage with clients empathetically.
