We are currently seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a 24-hour veterinary hospital in Beckenham on a 9-12 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a full-time role in a busy, well-established six-vet hospital supported by a dedicated night team that manages out-of-hours care for the region.
The practice fosters a friendly, supportive environment where the team regularly collaborates to review and improve clinical protocols. The hospital has a loyal client base that values the exceptional standard of care provided.
Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per year
Practice Facilities and Equipment
The practice is fully equipped with:
Ultrasound
Digital and dental x-ray
Surgical facilities, including laparoscopy and orthopaedic equipment
Gastroscope and bronchoscope
Emergency equipment
Two operating theatres
Three consultation rooms
Separate dental room
Distinct cat and dog wards
In addition, the practice offers Virtual Veterinary Service (VVS) support for cardiology and abdominal ultrasounds, allowing real-time collaboration with specialists.
Location: The hospital is located in a well-connected area with quick links into London via Thameslink, Southeastern, and Southern Train Lines. Staff parking is available, and the practice is just minutes away from the High Street with various shops and dining options.

Skills and Experience
RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
Proven experience delivering high-quality patient and client care
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Demonstrated clinical leadership skills
Experience fostering a progressive clinical culture
Competent in supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
Strong coaching and influencing skills to maximise team performance
