Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment is seeking a Medical Director for a brand-new, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital in North Central Austin, opening in early 2025. This facility will expand space and services to enhance both patient care and the team experience.

As Medical Director, you will be a key leader in the hospital, driving clinical excellence and fostering a strong, collaborative culture. Working alongside the practice manager and leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the hospital’s vision, implementing strategies for growth, and ensuring the highest standards of care for exotic, avian, and companion animals.

About the Hospital
This newly built facility will provide advanced wellness, dentistry, diagnostics, imaging, and surgical services. With over 4,000 active clients, the hospital fosters strong client relationships and a high standard of medicine. Equipped with ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiology, multi-modal anesthetic monitoring, and extensive orthopedic and soft tissue surgical capabilities, the team is committed to delivering exceptional care.
Who We're Looking For
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent
- Active Texas Veterinary License (or eligibility) and DEA licensure
- Previous leadership experience preferred, or a strong desire to mentor and develop a team
- Passion for working with exotics and expanding services in this area
- Commitment to high-quality medicine and client education
Schedule & Location
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Located in North Central Austin, serving Milwood, Balcones Woods, Oaks of Jollyville, Great Hills, and the Arboretum
