Small Animal Practice with Flexible Hours and an Exceptional Team Environment

This permanent Veterinary Surgeon role is based across two practices in Bolton and Bury, offering a general first-opinion caseload, with additional opportunities for Exotic cases if that’s your area of interest. The practice is highly flexible and can accommodate different focuses, including consulting-only or surgery-focused positions based on your preferences.

About the Practice
The practice is a forward-thinking, RCVS-accredited small animal training practice, with locations in Bolton and Bury. It serves a loyal client base in an ideal location near the West Pennine Moors, which offers beautiful outdoor spaces, yet is only 15 miles from Manchester city centre.

With state-of-the-art facilities, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house labs, the practice offers all the tools needed to deliver high standards of care. The team is led by an experienced Head Vet with a Diagnostic Imaging certificate, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Nurses are encouraged to advance their Schedule 3 skills and are supported by a fantastic reception and administrative team.

The Ideal Candidate
The practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who maintains excellent clinical standards, has experience in surgeries, and is comfortable working in sole-charge situations. Candidates should bring enthusiasm, a commitment to exceptional patient care, and a strong passion for veterinary medicine. In return, the practice offers a supportive environment and values a strong work-life balance

Hours & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications

  • 4-day work week with 1:4 Saturdays (no Sundays or OOH, rare occasional bank holiday shifts)
