Lloyd & Cowan are delighted to be representing an award-winning clinic situated in Preston that is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join the esteemed team. State-of-the-art veterinary practice features modern amenities including digital X-ray facilities, in-house blood machines, dedicated dog and cat wards, a dental suite, and a rabbit-friendly environment.

  • The practice also offers advanced procedures such as laparoscopic surgery and orthopaedics, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development in advanced surgery.

  • As a key member of this professional and personable team, the Veterinary Surgeon will go beyond standard consulting by actively listening, empathising, and prioritising both patients and clients. The ideal candidate will hold an MRCVS qualification and possess experience in small animal practice, demonstrating proficiency in clinical examination and surgery.

  • Whether working independently or as part of a team, the Veterinary Surgeon should embody the values of trustworthiness, care, and progress, complemented by strong communication skills and a desire to share knowledge.

  • The successful candidate will work alongside other experienced vets, fostering a collaborative environment where skills and knowledge are shared to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.

  • Provide clear updates and exceptional care to clients.

  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.

  • Prepare accurate treatment and care plans with clear cost estimates.

  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills.

  • Complete clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients needing out-of-hours or enhanced care.

  • Support and share clinical best practices within and across practices and the wider veterinary community.

Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.

  • Experience in delivering exceptional care to patients and clients.

  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Clinical leadership skills.

  • Experience in implementing a progressive clinical culture.
