Position: Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire

Salary: Up to £80,000 (DOE)

Lloyd & Cowan are delighted to be representing a thriving, family-owned practice located in Tamworth, known for fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment who are actively recruiting a Small Animal Vet. 

The Practice:

·         The practice offers autonomy to lead, innovate, and mentor while being part of a close-knit team dedicated to delivering the highest standards of veterinary care.

·         The practice is modern, spacious, air-conditioned, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

·         The Clinical Director is led by a Vet with over 20 year’s experience.

·         The role involves working alongside 5 Vets, 5 Nurses, Receptionists, and 2 experienced Practice Managers. 

Autonomy and Leadership:

·         This role offers significant autonomy, allowing the Lead Veterinary Surgeon to shape the future of the practice while focusing on clinical excellence.

·         With strong support from the Practice Manager and Owners, the successful candidate can lead the clinical team without the burden of additional management responsibilities. 

Surgical Bias and Specialisms:

·         If the candidate has a surgical bias or any specialisms, these will be fully supported within the practice. 

Flexible Working Schedule:

·         Work 4 days a week with 1 in 3 Saturdays, no Sundays, and no Out of Hours (OOH) requirements. 

Recently Refurbished Practice:

·         The practice has recently undergone a refurbishment but retains its family-friendly atmosphere. 

Responsibilities:

·         Lead and mentor the clinical team, providing guidance and support to Junior Vets.

·         Handle more complicated surgical and medical cases, utilising experience to deliver high-quality care.

·         Collaborate with the Practice Owners and Practice Manager to implement innovative ideas and enhance performance and care standards.

·         Contribute to the continued growth and success of the practice by driving forward new initiatives. 

Salary & Benefits:

·         Competitive Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum, with bi-annual reviews.

·         No OOH or Sundays: Enjoy a strong work-life balance with no Out of Hours requirements and no Sunday shifts.
