Lead Veterinary Surgeon
Salary: Up to £70,000 per year
Location: Bromborough, Wirral
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving practice in Bromborough. This role offers a chance to work alongside a skilled veterinary team, providing exceptional care to patients and outstanding service to clients.
The successful candidate will have a client-oriented approach, excellent communication skills, and be proficient in both medical and surgical aspects of small animal care. You should be enthusiastic, driven, and have the ambition to continue developing your clinical and leadership skills. Sole charge consulting will be required one day per week.
This is a full-time position working 39 hours per week over 4 days, offering an excellent work/life balance.
Location
The practice is conveniently located on Chester Road, just off the A41. It is easily accessible via the M53, A550, and nearby Bromborough and Bromborough Rake train stations. Several bus routes also serve the area, and the practice is situated within a parade of shops with nearby dining options.

Role Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures
- Provide clear and compassionate updates to clients on patient care
- Maintain professional excellence and adhere to regulatory standards
- Prepare accurate treatment estimates and manage payments
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to optimise commercial performance
- Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their clinical skills
- Inspire the team by sharing best practices and process improvements
- Ensure smooth patient handovers for out-of-hours or advanced care
- Support and share clinical best practices within the wider community
Skills and Experience
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Proven clinical leadership skills
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care
- Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture
- Strong commercial awareness and effective allocation of clinical activities
- Team-oriented with coaching and mentoring experience
