An exciting post in a busy veterinary hospital of clinical excellence based in Leeds for a full-time day vet, specifically suitable for a vet with 'general practitioner' experience with ECC, Surgical, inpatient interests.
Rota:
40hrs per week
1 in 4 weekends (no sole charge, 10hrs Sat, 10hrs Sun mainly ECC, 30min sick pet consults, inpatient care)
4 day week days (Mon- Fri)
Shifts:
1 surgical shift (general practice)
1 x consulting shift (30min sick pet consults as standard) general practice
2 x late inpatient shift (ending at10pm) - inpatient/ECC shift (inc. Hospital handover, inpatient care, emergency transfers, ECC procedures/surgery, sick pet emergency consults)
Benefits:

Surgical, Medicine, Dentistry Certificate holder in-house vet support
£1,500 Annual CPD allowance
Well supported role with a 2:1 qualified RVN-to -vet working ratio, illustrating the importance of the ‘people-support’ culture
As an advanced practice it is expected the ECC-hospital team be able to deliver, with support and training:
Oesophageal tube placements
Seldinger Chest Drain placements
Silicone Abdominal Peritoneal Drains
Pig tail urinary catheters
TFAST AFAST
Endoscoscopy
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
Urinary Catheterisation
The evening inpatient / ECC veterinary team regularly deal with the following caseload - caesareans, pyometra, exploratory laparotomy with enterotomy and enterectomy. On the medicine side we see many Addisonian, Ketoacidotic diabetic cases and severe pancreatitis cases.
The hospital is well equipped to provide the best Emergency Care with Digital Xray, advanced ultrasound with doppler (visiting CT scan for follow-up investigations), flexible video gastroscope, bronchoscope and Dental Xray with CR7 Developer etc.
